Snorestop — iPhone & Apple Watch App

Effective Date: 15 May 2026

1. Introduction

Thank you for using Snorestop (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use our iPhone and Apple Watch application, which detects snoring sounds and triggers a gentle vibration on your Apple Watch.

We are committed to your privacy. The short version: we do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any of your personal data. Everything stays on your device.

2. Who We Are

Snorestop is published on the Apple App Store. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at:

Email: compliance@oxfordinnovate.com

Website: www.oxfordinnovate.com

3. Data We Do Not Collect

Snorestop is designed with privacy at its core. We do not collect, transmit, store, or process any of the following:

  • Audio recordings or microphone data
  • Health or sleep data
  • Personal identifiers (name, email, Apple ID, device ID)
  • Location data
  • Usage analytics or crash reports
  • Any data from your Apple Watch
  • Any data whatsoever — we have no server, no database, and no backend

4. How the App Works — On-Device Processing Only

All audio processing is performed entirely and exclusively on your iPhone. Here is exactly what happens:

  • Your iPhone’s microphone listens for snoring patterns using on-device machine learning.
  • When a snoring event is detected, a count of that detection is stored locally on your iPhone only.
  • Your Apple Watch receives a haptic (vibration) signal sent directly from your iPhone over the local Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connection between your two devices.
  • No audio, sound data, or any other information ever leaves your iPhone.
  • We have no access to your microphone data, your snore count, or any other information.

The only data stored locally on your device is:

  • A simple count of how many times a snoring event was triggered during a session.

This count is stored on your iPhone only, never transmitted anywhere, and can be cleared at any time by deleting the App.

5. Microphone Permission

The App requests access to your iPhone’s microphone solely to detect snoring sounds. This permission is required for the App to function. Apple will prompt you to grant or deny this permission when you first launch the App.

If you deny microphone access, the App will not be able to detect snoring. You can change this permission at any time in your iPhone’s Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.

We never record, save, or transmit audio. The microphone input is processed in real time and immediately discarded.

6. Apple Watch

The App communicates with your paired Apple Watch using Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework over the local, encrypted connection between your iPhone and Apple Watch. This communication:

  • Occurs only between your iPhone and your own Apple Watch
  • Does not pass through any of our servers or third-party services
  • Contains only a simple trigger signal to activate the watch’s haptic engine (vibration)
  • Does not transmit any personal data, health data, or audio data

7. Health Kit & Health Data

Health Kit permissions are requested by the Apple Watch to enable Haptic triggers to be sent whilst the watch is in “watch down” mode. Snorestop does not access, read, or write to Apple HealthKit. No health or fitness data is used or stored by the App.

8. Third-Party Services & SDKs

Snorestop does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data collection SDKs. We do not use:

  • Google Analytics, Firebase, or similar analytics tools
  • Advertising networks or ad identifiers
  • Crash reporting services (e.g. Crashlytics, Sentry)
  • Any other third-party data services

9. Children’s Privacy

Snorestop does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region). Since we collect no data at all, the App is safe for use by all age groups from a data-privacy perspective.

10. Apple App Store

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect certain information in accordance with their own privacy policy when you download or purchase apps. We encourage you to review Apple’s Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy for more information about data Apple collects independently.

11. Data Security

Because no data is transmitted to us or stored on external servers, there is no risk of a data breach on our end. The only data that exists is the local snore-event count stored on your iPhone, which is protected by your device’s own security (Face ID, Touch ID, passcode) and Apple’s data protection frameworks.

12. Your Rights

As we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to provide, delete, or correct on request. You have full and sole control of all data associated with the App:

  • To delete your snore count history: delete the App from your iPhone.
  • To revoke microphone access: go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone on your iPhone.
  • To stop the App communicating with your Apple Watch: unpair the App in the Watch app or delete it from your Apple Watch.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this document and publish the updated policy on our website and/or within the App Store listing. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
