Snorestop — iPhone & Apple Watch App
Installation instructions and troubleshooting for iPhone and Apple Watch
Installation
- Download SnoreStop on your iPhone from the App Store.
- Check that the app has also downloaded on your Apple Watch. If it has not, open the Watch app on your paired iPhone, scroll to SnoreStop and tap Install. Alternatively, open the App Store directly on your Apple Watch to install it there.
- Open SnoreStop on both your iPhone and your Apple Watch.
- Tap I’m ready to sleep on both devices to begin a session.
Tip: Both devices must be running the app before you go to sleep — starting only one will prevent snore detection from working.
Tip: As the app is processing audio all night in standby or sleep mode, using these apps will drain your battery. It is highly recommended to leave your phone plugged into a charger while sleeping.
Watch won’t pair
- Ensure your Apple Watch is running watchOS 8 or later. Go to the Settings app on your Watch > General > About to check.
- Ensure your iPhone is running iOS 15.1 or later. Go to Settings > General > About on your iPhone to check.
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone and that your Apple Watch is within range.
Snoring not detected
- Confirm you have tapped I’m ready to sleep on both your iPhone and your Apple Watch.
- Go to Preferences and move the Trigger Sensitivity slider to the left to increase sensitivity, making it easier for the app to detect snoring sounds.
- Try repositioning your iPhone so it is closer to where you sleep — ideally on a bedside table at roughly head height.
Tip: Your iPhone’s microphone does the listening, so its position matters. Avoid placing it under pillows or far across the room.
Vibration not working
- Ensure your Apple Watch is sufficiently charged before you go to sleep.
- Go to Preferences and check that Vibration Intensity is not set to Off.
- Ensure HealthKit permissions are enabled. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch, scroll down and tap Health, then tap Apps and confirm SnoreStop is enabled.
Tip: If HealthKit access is denied, the app cannot communicate properly with your Watch, which will prevent vibrations from triggering.
Vibration duration too long or too short
- Go to Preferences and locate the Vibration Release slider.
- Move the slider to the left for shorter vibration durations, or to the right for longer ones.
Tip: A shorter vibration is usually enough to prompt a position change without fully waking you up — try a brief pulse first and adjust from there.
